    Day1 Tokyo arrival

    Arrival, transfer to the hotel by shuttle bus.

    In the afternoon, transfer by subway to Shinjuku.

    Dinner included and return to hotel by metro with our guide.

     

    Day2 Tokyo

    Five-hour city tour.( the Zojoji Temple, the junction of Shibuya, The Meiji Temple,  Omotesando,

    Nijubashi Bridge, Akihabara, Kokugikan, the Buddhist temple of Sensoji, Asakusa)

    Lunch included in a local restaurant. Return to hotel.Free time in the afternoon.


    Day3 Tokyo- Kyoto

    We will travel by bullet train to Kyoto.

    Kyoto City Tour of its main tourist attractions. (Arashiyama, the Togetsukyo Bridge, the Tenryuji temple, Shinto Shrine of Fushimi Inari, the Imperial Palace and Kinkakuji temple)

    Night transfer to the Gion Quarter, popular for its Geishas.

     

    Day4 Kyoto - Nara - Osaka

    In Nara we visit Todaiji, with its giant Buddha. Lunch included.

    Afterwards, we´ll visit the Buddhist temple of Horyuji.

    Continuing to Osaka, we will stroll through Dotonbori, a neighborhood full of neon lights

     

    Day5 Osaka - Himeji- Korakuen Garden- Okayama

    We will visit the immense Himeji Castle.

    Lunch included.

    In Okayama, we´ll visit the Korakuen Garden, one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan, as well as the Shinto shrine of Kibitsu-Jinja.

     

    Day6 Okayama - Kurashiki - HiroshimaItsukushima - Hiroshima

    Visit of Kurashiki, with its water canals.

    Upon arrival in Hiroshima, we will visit the Peace Memorial.

    By ferry we go to Miyajima Island, with its temple partially built on the sea.

    Return to our hotel.

    Dinner included.

     

    Day7 Hiroshima - Matsuyama

    Departure by ferry to Shikoku Island.

    In Matsuyama, we´ll take a cable car up to the castle.

    We will visit Ishiteji, a place of pilgrimage.

    Lunch included.

    We will include entrance to Dogo Onsen, a traditional Japanese bath.

     

    Day8 Matsuyama - Kotohira - Takamatsu - Naruto - Kobe

    Departure to Kotohira Shrine.

    In Takamatsu we will visit Ritsurin, one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan.

    Lunch included.

    Stunning bridge over the Naruto Sea.

    Between beautiful landscapes we arrive in Kobe.

     

    Day9 Kobe - Osaka - Mount Koya

    In Kobe, we visited the Earthquake Memorial Museum.

    Continue to the sacred mountain of Koya, a place of pilgrimage with important temples and monasteries.

    Accommodation in a Buddhist monastery.

    Zen meditation practice and dinner included (vegetarian).

     

    Day10  Mount Koya - Kyoto

    Japanese breakfast at the temple.

    We´ll leave for Kyoto where we´ll have the day off.

     

    Day11 Kyoto - Tsumago - Matsumoto.-Nagano

    Beautiful landscapes in the Japanese Alps Region.

    Visit of the village of Tsumago, with its wooden houses.

    Lunch included.

    Arrival in Matsumoto with its impressive castle.

    Arrival in Nagano in the late afternoon.

     

    Day12 Nagano - Monkey Park - Kusatsu - Ikaho Onsen

    Ceremony at Nagano Temple.

    Mountain landscapes.

    Visit of Jigokudani Monkey Park.

    Lunch included.

    Afterwards, we arrive in Kusatsu, a hot spring town.

    We continue to Ikaho, where we will stay in a Ryokan.

    Traditional Japanese dinner included.

     

     

    Day13 Ikaho - Nikko - Tokyo

    Departure to Nikko, a peaceful place with its impressive temples.

    Departure to Tokyo.

    Arrival around 6.30 pm.

      Day5

      On some dates, we may be accommodated in FUKUYAMA or KURASHIKI. When this happens, the visit to Kibitsu-Jinja Temple will be cancelled. The visit to Kurashiki can be made on the same day in the afternoon.

      Day6 

      The order of the visits in Hiroshima may vary without affecting their content.

      Day9 

      We consider the sojourn at the monastery as an experience of great existential value. The rooms at this place are modest, without bathrooms, in the traditional Japanese style with tatamis. Bathrooms are communal.

      Day12

       In the autumn, depending on the amount of fruit in the mountains, the movement of the monkeys is unpredictable. If the macaques do not come down to the park, it may be closed. The visit to Kusatsu may be cancelled due to the weather from November to April.
